Sand Cats are elusive little beings. They share similarities with our Fennec Fox friends as they are not great jumpers or climbers and have incredible hearing. They have fur on the bottom of their feet to protect them from the harsh desert sand and heat and eat a diet much like that of the foxes, capable of going without water for very long periods of time. These hard to find desert cats, are rare amongst zoos because of simply because they are one of the hardest cat species to breed in captivity. One of these little angels are said to have accompanied the prophet Mohammad as his companion on his trip he took with his daughter in the desert.
