Here is the second banner for the Support Animals. Series.
The domestic Ferret aka Mustela putorius furo is a member of the Mustelidae family. Mustelids are an incredibly diverse family and the animals range in size from tiny (the least weasel 35-70g) to the size of a medium dog (the giant otter 35-40kg).
There are a lot of negative believes concerning this amazingly awesome creature. One I often hear is that ferrets are rodents. NO! THEY ARE NOT! Ferrets are decendants of the Polecat and are absolutely 100% mammal. Another negative believe is that ferrets are biters. Guess what people, the majority of ferrets do not bite. Of course when you get one real young they have to be taught not to nimble just like a puppy or kitten would do. Ferrets can have full rein of a household just like cats and dogs do, and they can be trained to do many tricks. Do you have a ferret story to tell or have any ferret related questions?
